At Veiligheidsregio Groningen, we are genuinely interested in what drives people and what they need. We help them navigate what safety means in today’s world and make them aware of what they can do themselves. In this way, we are collectively responsible for safety in our region, together, for one another.
In times of calm, we mainly work behind the scenes, creating the conditions necessary for safety. We do this through training and preparation, as well as through advice and prevention.
Our role changes in the event of a disaster or crisis. At that moment, we scale up and step to the forefront, working together with other emergency organizations to return to a safe situation as quickly as possible. Because safety belongs to everyone.
The fire brigade is a crucial part of our safety region. We are experts in fire safety and incident response. We are visible and reliable, vigilant and alert. We are always ready, for others and for each other. People rely on us, on our knowledge and expertise, and on our ability to act correctly and effectively when needed. Because we are the fire brigade: professionals in safety.
