Province Limburg is responsible for a number of core public tasks laid down by law. In carrying out these responsibilities, the province works closely with municipalities, the national government, businesses, educational institutions, and other organizations. Province Limburg is committed to addressing sustainability challenges through its policies, while also taking responsibility for making its own organization more sustainable, including both its internal operations and executive tasks.
The organization employs around 1,100 civil servants, who support the Provincial Executive. The Provincial Secretary and Director General leads the organization, manages the civil service, and serves as the link between the Provincial Executive and the civil servants.
