We are experts in ERP implementation, our services are 95% related to the system we implement. It means we are very dependent on the system and have the high business risk as all our earnings dependant on it. Also we have some business consultancy skills inside the company that we are not using right now or are not allocated correctly. As a part of ERP implementation our consultants deal with business consultancy, strategy consultancy, etc. However, we are not sure wether they have the right skills to do it as some of them may and some may not. However we see “business consultancy” as a potential new service offering to dive into and hereby creating more independency regarding our clients.
We need to broaden the services we provide and therefore mitigate the dependency and increase profit. We want to provide business consultancy services, but do not have a plan on how to do it yet.
We expect a business plan on implementing a new service in our portfolio. This new service can be Business/strategy consultancy, IT consultancy, process consultancy or something else related to business however not ERP implementation. Key deliverables can be:
- Market research (current and potential customers, competitors and free niches)
- New service offering description (formulate and brand the value proposition of the new service not to hinder the current company's business)
- Marketing and Sales strategy (target audience definition, pricing, promotion)
- People strategy (development of current people vs hiring new)
- Roadmap and costs (finalize the business plan with the steps necessary and potential costs)
