1. Description of the challenge

How can we make train travel more attractive to young people and young adults through gamification? Arriva challenges you to design a creative game or activity that makes taking the train not only practical, but also fun and surprising. Think of an interactive Snapchat game, an online challenge, or a reward system that entices travelers to use public transport more often. The key is to spark curiosity, create surprise, and stimulate repeat behavior: moving from trying the train once to making it a regular choice.

This challenge helps us develop innovative ideas that connect with the lifestyle and mindset of young people, while strengthening Arriva’s brand positioning.

2. Expected outcome

The desired outcome is a creative and feasible concept for a gamification-based action or campaign that enables Arriva to reach, engage, and encourage young people to travel by train more frequently. This could be a working prototype or a storyboard. The most important goal: a concrete idea that can be brought to life.
