1. Description of the challenge

Ultrasonic Flow Measurement (UFM) is a cornerstone of KROHNE’s product portfolio, serving a wide range of industrial applications. As the world undergoes rapid transformation—technologically, environmentally, and socially—how can UFM evolve to remain relevant and impactful?

We invite you to take part in shaping the future of flow measurement. Your challenge is to develop a compelling vision and a strategic roadmap for future-ready UFM solutions tailored to the needs of the process industry in the 21st century.

Session 1: Morning – Envisioning the Future of Flow Measurement
Explore the broader context and imagine what flow measurement could look like in the future. Consider:

  • Global trends: Geopolitical shifts, societal changes, and climate challenges.
  • Sustainability: The energy transition and alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).
  • Market evolution: Transition from product-centric to solution- and service-oriented business models.
  • Technological disruption: The impact of digitalization, AI, and emerging technologies.

Goal: Develop a forward-looking vision for UFM in the process industry, grounded in global and technological trends. The vision should be supported by data.

Session 2: Afternoon – Designing the Roadmap for Future-Ready UFM
Translate your vision into actionable strategies. Focus on:

  • Product innovation: What should next-generation UFM products look like?
  • Digital integration: How can UFM connect with the digital revolution in the process industry? Consider data services, smart applications, and connectivity.
  • Manufacturing transformation: What does a modern, agile, and sustainable production line for UFM look like?

Goal: Propose up to three strategic plans, including a product roadmap, that outline how KROHNE can lead the future of flow measurement.

2. Expected outcome
  • A clear and inspiring vision statement for future UFM.
  • Up to three strategic plans addressing product, digital, and production innovations.
  • A roadmap with short-, mid-, and long-term actions to guide development.
