We are Chiesi, a family company founded by Giacomo Chiesi. In 1935, Giacomo started making new medicines in his pharmacy in Parma. Now, more than 85 years later, his grandchildren Alessandro, Andrea, Giacomo and Maria Paola, are at the helm of a global company. Our company employs over 7,000 people. They make medicines for chronic lung diseases, transplants, respiratory problems in premature infants and various rare diseases. But one thing has not changed; we decide what we do ourselves, without big shareholders demanding higher dividends or deciding what we invest in. No other big pharma company can imitate us.
